The Intake Worker for Dane County will provide support to the Social Services Director by providing supervision and intake of clients, maintaining security, and providing supportive services in a Christian atmosphere. The role involves conducting intake interviews of incoming residents into shelter, assigning a proper room and distributing needed bedding and personal items, and providing necessary supervision of shelter and residents, assuring that rules and policies are being followed. The Intake Worker will also maintain an awareness of client needs, answer telephone calls, clean shelter areas as necessary, prepare snacks for shelter residents, oversee lunch and dinner preparations in the dining room, review log book and update entries as needed, perform room inspections, distribute medications as needed, and supervise volunteers and community service workers when assigned.
