About The Position

Team Recovery is an addiction treatment center dedicated to supporting individuals affected by substance use and mental health disorders. They offer a full continuum of care, including inpatient detox, residential treatment, outpatient services, and recovery housing, with a mission to improve lives and redefine treatment. The Intake Therapist is responsible for providing a safe environment for clients in treatment, conducting individual therapy sessions, assisting in facilitating treatment groups, and coordinating, developing, and carrying out treatment plans for their caseload. This role also involves timely documentation of services and meeting productivity standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, behavioral science, or similar.
  • Licensed Social Worker required.
  • BLS/CPR Certification, will train upon hire.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, be 21 years or older, and be deemed insurable through Team Recovery's insurance carrier.
  • Proficient in electronic health record management systems and documentation, as well as the utilization of office and clinical technologies.
  • Advanced ability to educate patients, staff, and the community on health issues and promoting overall wellness.
  • Conflict management and crisis intervention experience and skills, as well as possess the ability to effectively apply problem-solving skills while providing real time solutions.
  • Interpersonal and interprofessional collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines, and communicate challenges effectively.
  • Compassionate, relationship-based, and trauma-informed approach.
  • High ethical standards, and the ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material and situations.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with a team, both in oral and written format, especially when communicating technical phrases to audiences who may not be familiar with systems.
  • Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills while providing real time solutions.
  • Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.
  • Knowledge and competency in Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder diagnoses and related symptoms.
  • Knowledge and competency in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and calming techniques.
  • Knowledge and competency in risk factors for suicide/homicide.
  • Knowledge and competency in risk assessment and safety planning.
  • Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual and family.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose.
  • Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Nice To Haves

  • LISW, LPC, LPCC License in the state of Ohio preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose substance use disorder and/or other co-occurring psychiatric disorders within scope of practice.
  • Evaluate the health of patients and participate in the creation, updating, and reviewing of personalized treatment plans for all clients based on their recommended level of care.
  • Provides individual and group treatment sessions utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Completes documentation on all services rendered in a timely manner.
  • Coach patients on development of healthy activities, coping skills, and the dangers of unhealthy behaviors.
  • Assist in de-escalating issues and responding to emergencies, administering care while contacting and communicating with appropriate emergency personnel.
  • Participate in departmental and company training and meetings.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients and staff.
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
