About The Position

The Intake Therapist will conduct initial Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, ages 5+, and coordinate with program support staff to identify additional services and resources based on client needs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field
  • Familiar with standard business computer software programs and electronic Health Care Database programs.
  • ACT 33/34 clearances
  • FBI clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing direct therapy in the area of mental health, substance use, or IDD preferred.
  • Experience working in an Outpatient setting preferred.
  • Familiar with OMHSAS and DDAP Regulations preferred
  • LCSW/ LPC/ LMFT strongly preferred. Must be currently or willing to work towards licensure.
  • ASAM training certificate is ideal but not required

Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with the DSM-5 for diagnostic purposes.
  • Familiarity with assessing for SI, HI, and self-harm and the necessary next steps for voluntary and involuntary hospitalization.
  • Can complete Intakes within a timely manner and within the expected timeframe and standard set by the program.
  • Will complete treatment planning for clients who are receiving med management only services within the expected regulations and due dates stipulated by DDAP and OMHSAS as needed.
  • Will provide check-ins with clients weekly until clients are assigned to full time therapist as needed.
  • Will work with Billing Manager, Clinical Manager, and Clinical Director to ensure same-day access and availability of assessments.
  • Using Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) in service provision.
  • Build and enhance relationships with RHD program staff and outside providers to coordinate care.
  • Complete all clinical documentation required; intake assessments for open access service.
  • Work with the clinical team in an interdisciplinary approach to care.
  • Through regular, systematic review, ensure thorough analysis of each client’s care and ensure that charts are linked with all available resources.
  • Work with Intake specialists to ensure client engagement and retention within the program.
  • Work with the Mobile Services Department to maintain thorough knowledge of available mobile services in order to accurately assess, promote, and refer to case management, peer support, or the career center.
  • Will collaborate with Medical Staff, Medical Assistants, and Psychiatry to ensure quality of care and a holistic treatment approach.
  • Participates in training as requested by the Clinical Manager or Clinical Director.
  • Enter documentation into electronic medical records in accordance with agency guidelines.
