About The Position

SUMMARY: To obtain information from callers to the agency to gather necessary screening information to direct the caller to the appropriate level of care and to ensure accurate and timely documentation of these contacts into the electronic medical record. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES: pTo obtain information from callers to Gateway Healthcare Intake line to determine pay-source information by verifying eligibility and coverage limitations with all insurance companies.ppDemonstrates ability to engage clients and their families in way that is appropriate to their age, culture, and psychiatric status.ppDemonstrates working knowledge of the admission and/or medical criteria regarding the behavioral health services offered by Gateway and/or in the community (IHHCT; PACS, outpatient therapy; Eastman House).ppCoordinates with PES clinicians around making initial appointments; walk in's and/or emergency evaluations.ppMaintains the schedule of appointments for the PES clinicians inclusive of initial evaluations; warm hand off's; therapy appointments and/or clinical assessments and safety evaluations.ppAssists with provision of insurance information to administrative staff and assists with billing functions as needed; including verifying/researching of current insurance.ppDirects callers with any current risk factors to speak with a PES clinician to assess for safety; ongoing.pMay be required to attend conferences and/or trainings as requested.ppMay be required to cross train other members of the department.ppWill update demographic information in the medical record; as indicated to ensure up to date information is captured in the medical record.ppOther duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: pQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:pHigh School diploma (GED) required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred. Requirements

  • High School diploma (GED) required.
  • Must have at least 2 years verifiable experience in an office environment.
  • No professional license required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from professionals, managers, clients, family and the general public.
  • Read, analyze and interpret professional journals, policy and procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Write reports and general correspondence.
  • Analyze client and system information, identify problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, develop options and strategies for resolving problems, monitor implementation and evaluate the problem solving process for effectiveness.
  • Deal with several abstract and concrete variables concurrently.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required training and certifications
  • Oral and written communication skills, including speech, grammar, spelling, and legibility are at sufficient level to ensure effective and appropriate communication.
