About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to monitor the intake work of the courts. Incumbents will work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. This is a part-time position not to exceed 29 hours per week. The position requires flexibility for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of legal or court related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
• Affirmation as a sworn Deputy Clerk of the Court.
• Knowledge of legal terminology related to area of assignment.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations governing court procedures.
• Knowledge of practices and procedures of the Fulton County Court System.
• Skill in organizing and prioritizing work.
• Skill in using spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation, and other software.
• Skill in entering data.
• Ability to build sustainable working relationships with other County personnel, officials, and the public.
• Ability to provide high quality, customer-focused service.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisor, and the public.

Nice To Haves

• Course work in business, public administration, criminal justice, law, or related area.

Responsibilities

• Processes legal matters ensuring conformity to law and established court guidelines.
• Maintains legally mandated logs of intakes and releases.
• Verifies identification and custody of each intake.
• Responds to inquiries, by telephone and in person, from attorneys and the public regarding court calendars, procedures, and intake.
• Reviews weekly court calendar to ensure accuracy.
• Performs other related duties as required.
