About The Position

The Intake Specialist at Johnston Health is responsible for ensuring accurate patient access processing in accordance with established procedures. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of customer service and/or clerical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures and verifies key ADT information such as insurance verification and patient demographics to ensure patient safety and billing accuracy.
• Schedules new and follow-up patient appointments as required and attempts to reschedule cancellations.
• Communicates cancellations to providers as necessary.
• Completes and documents all governmental, regulatory, financial, and contractual forms in accordance with procedures.
• Ensures documents are scanned and saved to the correct location and are legible.
• Utilizes price estimation tools during the registration process to provide accurate estimates to patients.
• Meets departmental targets for upfront collections including deposits and co-pays.
• Actively participates in departmental quality assurance by utilizing system work queues and reducing individual errors.
