The position involves obtaining patient demographic and health insurance information, collecting co-pays when appropriate, and verifying and recording insurance benefits. The employee will interact professionally with physicians, patients, and co-workers, and will be responsible for scheduling setups as called into VieMed by physicians or their office staff. The role also includes retrieving incoming referrals, logging demographic information into the patient database and billing system, and reviewing medical records to determine medical necessity. Communication with the sales team and referral sources is essential, as is documenting the status of referrals and reporting any concerns to the Intake Manager or Supervisor.
