About The Position

The Intake Specialist serves as the first point of contact for clients at Talbert House, responsible for coordinating intakes, conducting authorizations, and providing exceptional customer service. This role involves completing the intake and assessment process, ensuring accurate documentation, and collaborating with various stakeholders to facilitate client placements and referrals.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of related experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Beginner level problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task while prioritizing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate intakes and conduct authorizations for clients.
  • Complete the intake and/or assessment process in a timely manner according to protocols.
  • Interview clients or perform record reviews to ensure appropriate placement.
  • Document client information accurately and timely using appropriate protocols and technology.
  • Enter and monitor all payers and Payee claims, ensuring client insurance information is accurate.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for client intakes and obtain Release of Information documentation.
  • Perform crisis interventions to resolve crises or unusual incidents as needed.
  • Update computer records, assemble client charts, and register clients in health record software.
  • Schedule appointments and type letters, case plans, case notes, and administrative reviews.
  • Conduct ORAS Assessments as needed.
  • Produce, distribute, and explain the intake process and related lists.
  • Conduct visitation orientation for new visitors.
  • Monitor and complete necessary reports to meet funder and agency deadlines.
  • Communicate and collaborate with referring agencies while adhering to privacy policies.
  • Determine eligibility for programs and provide referrals for ineligible clients.
  • Complete required training for agency, accrediting body, and funders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
