About The Position

Intake Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity - Full-Time Night Shift. This full-time opportunity offers 40-hours per week, full benefits, and a night shift schedule with shift differential. (M-F 7:00p to 5:30a). Licensed by the State of Indiana and fully accredited by the Joint Commission, Valle Vista, is a 132-bed a mental health hospital and provides comprehensive treatment for a broad range of psychiatric disorders in a safe and comfortable setting. Our goal is to help people learn the skills and regain the confidence to function successfully at home, work, school, and in their communities.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana.
• Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
• Strong assessment and communication skills.
• Ability to work night shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a mental health hospital setting.
• Knowledge of managed care processes.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate requests for services and resource referral.
• Assess patient/family clinical needs.
• Interface with managed care organizations, external reviewers, and other payers' insurance precertification.
• Handle crisis calls to St. Francis ER's.
• Perform nursing assessments and ensure limited delays from admission department to floor.
• Act as a backup nurse for the floor and intake departments.
• Serve as a bridge between intake and the nursing floor.
