Job Description: 40 hours a week Mon-Friday variable schedule (day) Position Summary Independently manage the new patient office, often serving as initial introduction to Elliot Health System, responding to potential new patients as well as providers and referring offices who are requesting services with Elliot Gastroenterology. Key Responsibilities Processes all incoming referrals for new and existing patients and contact patients to schedule appointments. Assists potential new patients and referring offices with new patient process, with a large volume of phone contact and electronic and/or faxed new patient information. Obtains and verifies demographic and coverage information, organize, ensure accuracy, and complete new patient referral form following department guidelines for each new patient. Requests prior medical records, testing, and referrals and ensure information is received prior to appointment. Verifies accuracy of information by identifying patient's demographics, hospital number, insurance, and patient history. Provides accurate and up-to-date status on all new patient referrals using Patient Message function in EPIC to continually document information. Notifies APRN of any urgent incoming requests for review and ensures records are available. Follows specified procedures for dispatching finished referrals to designated person(s) for approval to either book appointments or notify referring providers of denials. Education/Experience/Licensure Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of related medical office experience required. Certification/Licensure:N/A Software/Hardware: Proficient in MS Office. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related medical office experience required.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
