About The Position

The Director of Intake is accountable for directing the Intake Department activities at the facility. As a clinician, this position provides direction to a staff of the Intake Department including nurses, therapists and coordinators in the provision of psychiatric assessment services, including medical/clinical evaluations, crisis intervention, and referrals. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. Monitors and assures timely completion Intake Department reports and auditing tools as directed by facility/company.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health, or related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable.
  • Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field.
  • Experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, and communicating with external review organizations.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to effectively communicate with staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Preferred Certification/License: R.N., L.C.S.W., L.M.S.W., LPC or applicable license.
