Assessment Counselors assess the needs of callers and patients in our busy 24/7 Intake Department. You will be working with patients who are presenting with mental health or addictive disease treatment needs and will be responsible for ensuring they receive the appropriate level of care which may include a hospital admission or referral to a community service/resource.
Requirements
- To be successful in this position, you need at least one year of intake/assessment experience preferably in a crisis intervention environment.
- A master's degree in a counseling or related field as well as being license-eligible is required.
Responsibilities
- Responding to telephone and face-to-face inquiries seeking mental health
- Conducting clinical assessments and determining appropriate treatment options
- Ensuring patients and families understand the admissions and treatment process
- Discussing clinical issues with physicians to determine next steps
- Collaborating with other departments to address the needs of patients
