About The Position

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health is a 102-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Central Texas town of Temple, Texas. Canyon Creek features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care and intensive outpatient programs. We are enthusiastic about providing compassionate health care from our team here at Canyon Creek Behavioral Health. The Intake Coordinator is accountable for coordinating the Assessment and Referral activities at the facility. This position involves extensive contact with the community and interfaces closely with the Director, utilization review staff, Canyon Creek Behavioral Health business office staff and clinical staff to ensure continuity of communication. This position is also responsible for inquiry calls, insurance verification and scheduling of evaluations and admissions.

Requirements

• High school diploma; prefer some college or equivalent experience in a health care related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a customer-service field, preferably in a health care setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of customer service principles.
• Ability to communicate over the telephone and in face-to-face situations.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all information.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and CPI training as outlined in New Hire Policy must be completed before providing direct care services.
