Requirements

  • Registered Nurse or Master’s Degree in a human relations field required.
  • Preferably two or more years of experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a psychiatric hospital setting, including customer contact.
  • Licensed to practice in Georgia as a mental health professional recommended. LCSW or LPC required.
  • Knowledge of the latest DSM and Mental Status Exam.
  • A working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field.
  • Successful completion of CPR Certification and CPI before assisting with a restraining procedure and within 30 days of employment.
  • May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Document and process inquiry calls in accordance with A&R policies.
  • Assess and stabilize patients prior to leaving the hospital or arrange admission to the hospital.
  • Notify and assist the on-call doctor with patient interviews.
  • Complete admission paperwork in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Complete the Intake (EMTALA) log with all documented information.
  • Make follow-up calls to patients who fail to show up for appointments.
  • Obtain pre-certification in accordance with insurance requirements.
  • Demonstrate guest relations by example and counsel employees in need of guest relations training.
  • Notify administration of problems or significant events.
