About The Position
Chicago Behavioral Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Clinician to join their team. This role is crucial in responding to referrals and requests for services and information, providing technical assistance to the discharge planning process, and offering general support to the case management program. Chicago Behavioral Hospital (CBH) is a cutting-edge 150-bed inpatient facility in Des Plaines, Illinois, specializing in mental health treatment. Nice To Haves
- A Master’s Degree in a human relations field.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois as a mental health professional or RN.
- Experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting.
Responsibilities
- Respond to referrals and other requests for services and information.
- Provide technical assistance to the discharge planning process under the direction of the Director of Intake.
- Offer general support to the case management program.
- Document and process inquiry calls according to Intake policies.
- Assess and stabilize patients before discharge or arrange hospital admission.
- Notify and assist the on-call doctor with patient interviews.
- Obtain administrative approval for all admissions.
- Complete admission paperwork following hospital policy.
- Maintain an intake log with all necessary information documented.
- Make follow-up calls to patients who fail to show up for appointments.
- Demonstrate guest relations by example and provide counseling to employees in need of training.
