About The Position

The Access Center Intake Clinician is responsible for the facilitation of requests for services, assessment of patient/family clinical needs, referrals to appropriate resources and services. The Intake Clinician works as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive appropriate care. The clinicians also interface with managed care organizations, external reviewers, other payers, and as needed crisis calls to community ER’s.

Requirements

• License Eligible Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, mental health/behavioral sciences, or related field or RN (preferably BSN) required.
• Licensed in field preferred.
• Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria and mental status exam required.
• 1-2 years of experience in psychiatric health care preferred.
• Previous experience in mental health field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate requests for services.
• Assess patient/family clinical needs.
• Refer patients to appropriate resources and services.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care.
• Interface with managed care organizations and external reviewers.
• Handle crisis calls to community ERs as needed.
