About The Position

The Intake Attorney plays a crucial role in analyzing and resolving potential conflicts of interest as part of the firm's new business intake and lateral hiring processes. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to draft and review engagement letters and conflicts waivers, while also standardizing the firm's conflicts review and intake process to implement risk mitigation policies.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree
• Member in good standing of a state bar
• Minimum of two years of legal experience, preferably in conflict analysis and resolution in a law firm setting.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of ethical, legal, and risk management rules.
• Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong research skills using internal and external resources.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze potential conflicts of interest related to new firm business and lateral attorney candidates.
• Draft conflict waivers, engagement letters, and similar documentation in accordance with firm policies.
• Collaborate with Conflicts Researchers, Conflicts Analysts, and other stakeholders to resolve conflicts of interest.
• Review and comment on outside counsel guidelines, requests for proposal, and client-generated engagement letters.
• Assist with the preparation and oversight of ethical walls.
• Maintain accurate records of the conflict clearance process in firm databases.
• Monitor developments in rules of professional conduct and case law related to conflicts of interest.
• Conduct legal research regarding conflicts rules in relevant jurisdictions.
• Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.
