Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or other related field of study with experience in Behavioral Health and Psychiatry pending State requirements.
  • Bachelor's/Associate degree in nursing pending State requirements.
  • Current independent practice scope licensure in state of practice, LMFT, LMFT-A LPC, LPC- A, LPCP, LCSW, LMSW, RN or LPN.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a psychiatric setting.
  • Experience in crisis counseling and crisis evaluations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external customers to identify patients appropriate for admission to the Behavioral Health Unit.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, independence, and strong communication skills in a fast-paced hospital setting.
  • Provide compassionate care across all age groups experiencing mental health crises, while maintaining confidentiality and professional relationships.
  • Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments and present clinical findings to medical staff.
  • Understand legal processes related to psychiatric admissions and be knowledgeable in DSM-V criteria and developmental stages.
  • Manage patient transfers, authorizations, and support reviews, with availability to cover shifts as needed.
