About The Position

The Intake and Assessment Coordinator conducts WE Inc.’s Empower Entry Assessment with new participants to determine literacy, numeracy, motivation/work readiness, vocational skill strengths, and accommodation needs. The Specialist administers the assessment using a supportive, participant-centered approach and uses results to recommend appropriate training programs, individualized supports, and learning plan priorities. This role is ideal for a person who is patient, organized, and comfortable working with individuals living with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Perform additional duties as needed to support program objectives and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required (Associate or bachelor’s in education, psychology, social work, rehabilitation, or related field strongly preferred).
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, special populations, or workforce programs strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable supporting individuals with varying reading/math levels and learning differences.
  • Strong attention to detail in scoring, documentation, and data tracking.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; calm, encouraging communication style.
  • Basic computer skills (email, Word/Forms/Excel or similar tools).
  • Ability to sit and engage in assessment activities for extended periods.
  • Ability to move throughout facility to conduct assessments in designated spaces.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure and supportive tone with participants.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex assessment materials.
  • Ability to perform numeracy skills at a level consistent with score reporting and data analysis.
  • Ability to keep scheduled workdays without interruption.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience administering assessments, screenings, or structured interviews.
  • Background in adult education, special education, transition services, or vocational rehabilitation.
  • Familiarity with accommodations, supports, and person-centered planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment Administration Conduct Empower Entry Assessments (typically 30–40 minutes per participant) using a calm, encouraging, plain-language approach.
  • Administer assessments one-on-one or in pairs, allowing breaks and reinforcing effort throughout the process.
  • Follow standardized administration guidelines to ensure fairness and consistency across participants.
  • Scoring, Documentation, and Recommendations Score all assessment domains accurately (literacy/writing, numeracy, vocational skills, motivation, career interest, accommodations).
  • Complete assessment summaries and recommend: Training program placement Supports/accommodations needed Suggested learning priorities for individualized plans
  • Maintain organized assessment files and ensure documentation is completed on time.
  • Program Collaboration Communicate results to Pathway Navigators and Program Leadership.
  • Support the development of individualized learning plans and progress tracking tools.
  • Participate in brief team check-ins as needed to ensure accurate placements and continuity of support.
  • Confidentiality and Professional Standards Maintain confidentiality and uphold professionalism in all interactions
  • Treat participants with dignity, respect, and culturally responsive practices
  • Follow WE Inc.’s policies for documentation, safety, and appropriate boundaries
