About The Position

The Intake Admin represents Coalition for the Homeless as the first impression of the agency to all visitors and guests. This position monitors access to the building and provides excellent customer service and administrative support to the staff. The position of Receptionist requires a high degree of professionalism, commitment, and adaptability to effectively uphold Coalition values and maintain an environment of dignity, respect, and cooperation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required (high school or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office applications (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, with the ability to learn new programs.
  • Understanding of the homeless population is desirable.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours based on the agency’s needs.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, demonstrate compassion, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to effectively serve a very diverse population.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow agency protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all persons entering the building in a professional manner.
  • Provide appropriate assistance and/or information to guests, visitors, volunteers, and donors.
  • Answer phones, route calls to the proper individual, or take messages as necessary.
  • Enter client information accurately and promptly into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Complete reports as requested by the Program Manager.
  • Order supplies as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the program and additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
