About The Position

This opportunity is part-time at 20 hours per week, offers part-time benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. Wellington Regional Medical Center is located in Wellington, Florida. It is a 235-bed, acute care hospital, owned by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., a highly respected healthcare management organization. Requirements

  • High School or GED Diploma.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in acute care facility or related environment preferred, but not necessary.
  • Willingness to be cross trained in other areas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills required.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Experience in insurance verification preferred.
  • Filing skills and typing skills.
  • Familiarity with HMO/PPO contracts beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Sets the tone for the department as the first point of contact.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for verification of patient demographic, medical and financial information.
  • Assists patients in all related aspects of their account.
  • Schedules initial evaluations and ongoing treatments, ensuring proper physician orders and authorizations are obtained.
  • Greets all outpatients, physicians, and visitors arriving at the department.
  • Enters pertinent demographic data into all computer systems and assures proper charges and records are obtained.
  • Handles billing, insurance verification, referral/authorization acquisition and management, documentation scanning, filing, patient registration and scheduling.
  • Maintains telephone etiquette for high volume calls from patients, staff, physicians, and insurance companies.
  • Delivers all services in a courteous, prompt, and professional manner.
