About Us Founded in 2001 by Dr. Sean McCafferty, Arizona Eye Consultants is the largest Ophthalmology/Optometry practice in Southern Arizona. 16 providers across four Tucson locations Over 100 dedicated employees Specialties include glaucoma, cataracts, pediatric ophthalmology, and specialty contact lenses This position will be based in our pediatric offices (Northwest and Central Tucson). Travel between locations may be required. This role also assists with patient phone calls, billing inquiries, authorizations, and cross-training in AR and revenue cycle support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Strong communication, customer service, and computer skills
  • Availability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Ability to travel occasionally for training or company needs

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of medical insurance verification experience
  • Knowledge of insurance billing guidelines, CPT & ICD-10 coding, and ocular/medical terminology

Responsibilities

  • Verify insurance coverage for upcoming visits and testing appointments, including obtaining authorizations and referrals.
  • Maintain knowledge of medical insurance plan changes relevant to billing
  • Operate a multi-line phone system, answer inquiries, and route calls/messages appropriately
  • Participate in training, webinars, and seminars for continued professional development
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager
