About The Position

Looking for an opportunity to join GTE Financial in an Insurance Specialist role? The Insurance Specialist operates in a customer service & support role for GTE Financial working in a call center environment. The Insurance Specialist (IS) position is an integral link in the business relationship that is created by our insurance department between our clients and the insurance companies and/or vendors we represent. This position meets the insurance needs of our clients by educating, quoting, selling, and servicing policies within insurance state law guidelines. What does GTE Financial look for in an Insurance Specialist? Ability to provide superior service to our members and internal customers by promptly responding to their inquiries and recommending the appropriate insurance products and services to address their individual needs. Communicates with clients, insurance companies, and other financial institutions. Handles member inquiries, cancellations, reinstatements, and member billing questions. Maintain individual client files and process routine correspondence between our agency and the member or company, including preparing policy documents. Building relationships with existing clients, servicing their accounts, asking for referrals, and cross-selling to fulfill all their insurance needs. Comfortable with working with over 50 different insurance companies, their guidelines, websites, procedures, and processes. Participates and contributes to a positive teamwork environment which encourages team commitment to corporate, division, and departmental goals. Provides training to Credit Union staff as needed regarding products and referrals. Ensures the confidentiality of all information and transactions regarding GTE Financial Insurance, the Credit Union, its members, and its employees are held to the highest level of business ethics. Operations: Must be knowledgeable and confident to answer questions relating to rating, billing, policy, and coverage. Maintain and update our CRM, AMS, and other management software. Support sales agents with renewal reviews, underwriting requests, and any other tasks necessary to finalize the sale. Strong negotiation skills. World-class people skills. Ability to work independently, as well as with a team. Must demonstrate functional knowledge of The Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: The U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and The Bank Bribery Act. Perform additional functions at the direction of Agency Management. Bilingual required (English/Spanish).

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years’ P&C experience.
  • FL 20-44 or 2-20 license.
  • Must demonstrate functional knowledge of The Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: The U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and The Bank Bribery Act.
  • Bilingual required (English/Spanish).
  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Required for Remote/Hybrid Work: A quiet workplace so you can focus on delivering excellent service to our members.
  • Required to have power and high-speed internet over 100MB (minimum).
  • Video capability (connection of 1.5 Mbps up and down recommended).
  • Hybrid candidates must live within driving distance of the office location and be able to regularly commute to and from the office location as needed.
