About The Position

The Insurance & Risk Manager at Evonik is responsible for evaluating and managing all insurance claims, ensuring timely renewals of insurance policies, and providing insurance advice to internal clients. This role involves close collaboration with brokers and insurers, managing the premium allocation process, and supervising a Risk Specialist. The position also includes participation in safety committees and requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in insurance or business administration.
  • CPCU or ARM designation desirable or equivalents.
  • 5 - 7 years of general insurance experience.
  • Possess sound judgment and the ability to think objectively.
  • Possess organizational skills and ability to execute plans.
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with risk management techniques and concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing work with minimal direction.
  • Excellent follow-up skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.
  • Ability to initiate and coordinate projects.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage all claims; work with broker to ensure proper settlement.
  • Timely renew all expiring insurance policies; provide all necessary underwriting data to the broker and insurers.
  • Manage certificates of insurance and work with existing Evonik programs.
  • Give insurance advice to internal clients (legal department, business units) on insurance and risk management matters.
  • Work closely with broker on all insurance matters.
  • Coordinate with broker, insurer and third-party administrator with regard to all Workers' Compensation claims.
  • Manage the premium allocation process to the Evonik businesses.
  • Manage electronic file database of insurance policies, renewal activity, claims.
  • Supervise the Risk Specialist; provide guidance, and coordinate projects.
  • Participate over Region Fleet Safe Driving Committee.
