Michigan Millers is seeking a Product Business / Implementation Analyst to join our team! The individual in this role will have the opportunity to work closely with our Commercial Lines, Product Implementation, and IT departments to enhance products and technology in support of achieving our organizational objectives. This includes collaborative execution of business analysis and ensuring quality business deliverables across key phases of the requirements lifecycle for a product workstream or project.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in a business, IT, or related role.
  • Two years of experience with a proven track record of performing business analysis or business quality analysis on a range of projects / initiatives.
  • Basic business analysis training / certification equivalent to ECBA or CCBA.
  • Property-and-casualty insurance industry experience or education.
  • Experience working with Guidewire applications, such as PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and / or ClaimsCenter, is required.
  • Experience working in commercial lines insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with product team to draft and execute requirement activities for business process and software implementation initiatives of mixed impact and risk.
  • Performs business analysis for mixed-complexity tasks and mixed-impact business processes and / or applies software application modifications with moderate guidance from others.
  • Plans, researches, and analyzes product needs and tabulates findings that confirm requirements at the product team level.
  • Identifies and executes opportunities for improvement of processes and best practices at product team level; influences team to implement process improvement.
  • Partners with product managers, business leads, implementation leads, and QA and UAT resources to define system integrations, product quality standards, user acceptance test plans, execution plans, and evaluation criteria.
  • Collaborates in project intake, analysis, and troubleshooting business process issues.
  • Works with business / product and change control teams to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Participates in work refinement and estimation processes with product team.
  • Participates in troubleshooting, issue reporting, resolution, and communication of production issues.
  • Creates and maintains documentation that the business / product team or company has defined as important (e.g., support processes, team processes, decisions and discussions).
  • Ensures timely delivery of projects and tasks, communicating delays and roadblocks to the team and leadership as needed.
  • Flexes to non-core responsibilities as needed to ensure timely work delivery to the customer (e.g., testing, roadmapping, directing, deployment).
  • Demonstrates competent execution of business analysis best practices throughout the requirements lifecycle, with moderate guidance and support as needed.
  • Makes decisions guided by specific policies and objectives in situations requiring straightforward decisions.
  • Identifies and executes opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of team-level business processes and applications and uses data and persuasion to influence change.
  • Understands product team-level development best practices, standards, and policies and their possible implications on work activities.
  • Understands the relationships between problem components and process flows.
  • Utilizes intermediate knowledge, experience, and available resources to find a wide range of solutions.
  • Contributes to resolving problems and / or improving processes at the business / product team level.
  • Consistently acts according to our customer experience standards, including responding quickly, maintaining a positive attitude, building rapport, demonstrating empathy, managing the customer’s expectations, using the proper communication channel for the situation, and taking ownership to ensure the customer’s issue is resolved.
