About The Position

Verify insurance policy benefit information and obtain authorization, precertification, predetermination and/or referral when required. Ensure that patient insurance information is accurate and up to date in the practice management systems.

Requirements

A High school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of two (2) years of healthcare insurance verification or similar experience.

Nice To Haves

Previous work experience in an Orthopedic practice.

Responsibilities

Verify accurate patient insurance information using available benefit verification technologies.
Ensure all insurance information has been completely and accurately entered in the practice management system.
Obtain authorization, precertification, predetermination and/or referral when required.
Identify special policy clauses and inform patients and appropriate financial counselors for future follow-up.
Identify all patients without insurance benefits and direct them to the appropriate financial counselor to make financial arrangements.
Support surgical, work comp and third party liability verification functions during employee absences.
Inform lead insurance verifier of daily work flow progress for time frame processes and any problems that arise in the course of the day.
