About The Position

Atlantic Health is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Insurance Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in healthcare insurance processes, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy and patient care. This position is vital to assisting both patient and staff, ensuring a smooth insurance process throughout the duration of treatment. The position is located in Atlantic Rehabilitation's Morristown location, and will be Monday-Friday.

Requirements

High school Diploma

Nice To Haves

2 years of experience with insurance authorizations in a health facility
EPIC experience

Responsibilities

Function as a liaison between external insurance companies and internal staff to ensure patient needs are met
Notify internal staff when patient updates are required
Communicate with clinical teams to request necessary information for ongoing authorizations in a timely manner
Verify insurance coverage and benefits for all incoming referrals for all payers
Re-verify patient insurance during course of episode when payer change occurs and during open enrollment
Demonstrate knowledge of payors and required documentation for authorization
Obtain timely benefit information prior to point of service and authorization for ongoing authorizations for rehab services from select payers online, by telephone or fax per company requirements
Document all authorization information in Epic to ensure clinical communication, as well as accurate system notification of ongoing needed authorization
Review additional service request for completeness of information, accuracy and presence of required clinical data
Manage insurance work queues to resolve discrepancies and pending authorizations in a timely manner
Participate in team meetings and provides feedback on workflows to optimize workflows
Complete all Atlantic Health mandatory trainings
Adhere to Atlantic Health policies and guidelines s other duties as assigned.
