About The Position

The Insurance Follow up Representative plays a crucial role in managing and resolving outstanding third-party receivables within the billing department. This position focuses on meeting productivity standards related to cash collections and ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of accounts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma
  • 2 to 4 years relevant experience preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance plans, member eligibility, and medical billing
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on assigned tasks and projects

Responsibilities

  • Extensive Insurance follow up for various insurance plans
  • Working denials, submitting appeals and corrected claims
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of insurance plan policy updates including authorization and medical necessity requirements
  • Insurance Refund processing
  • Answering phone calls
  • Answering patient and staff questions for particular insurance plans
  • Setting up users for the insurance portals
  • Overall awareness of specified insurance plans accounts receivable issues
  • All Other duties as assigned
