The Insurance Eligibility Unit Supervisor reports directly to the Manager. The Supervisor is responsible for supervising the employees in the Pre-Registration and the Insurance Eligibility areas. The Supervisor ensures that the department operates efficiently and effectively by providing educational and training information to the team. Assists in completing evaluations. Stays within the department budget and works on minimizing overtime. The supervisor participates as a member of the management team and helps to resolve issues as they arise. Promotes a positive team environment and maintains effective working relationships with all team members. Fills in when needed to ensure there is coverage and that all tasks are completed. Responsible for working and updating accounts on the work-queues. Monitors and manages work queues daily to ensure the Admitting department meets the weekly dashboard goals. Employee exhibits independent judgement and has thorough understanding of department and hospital procedures. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Long Beach Medical Center/Miller’s Children’s and Woman’s Hospital.
