Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Workers’ Compensation, insurance coverage, claims, or litigation.
  • Familiarity with first-party property coverage is a plus (but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Lead Coverage Evaluations: Triage referrals, assess case facts, and determine coverage applicability using internal systems and state databases.
  • Communicate Strategically: Draft formal coverage responses for policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders. Manage communications throughout the case lifecycle.
  • Support Litigation: Assign and oversee defense counsel, develop litigation strategies, and assemble supporting evidence.
  • Navigate Complex Policies: Interpret Workers’ Compensation policies across voluntary and residual markets, including terminations, non-renewals, and lapses.
  • Respond to Coverage Assertions: Address state-specific protocols, 'Other States' provisions, and third-party insured claims.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Identify coverage trends and recommend corrective actions to improve outcomes and reduce risk.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Legal, Claims, and other departments on subpoena responses, invoice processing, and litigation monitoring.
