Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney
About The Position
The Chicago, IL office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service Am Law 100 firm, is seeking an attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Practice. The ideal candidate will have two (2) to five (5) years of experience in insurance coverage and professional liability matters including the defense of lawyers, insurance agents, and brokers as well as general liability defense work. Experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions involving first-party property and general liability matters is preferred. Litigation experience including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions is strongly desired. Excellent research and writing skills are required. Admission to the Illinois Bar is mandatory. Lewis Brisbois is a recognized leader in insurance coverage and claims. Our Insurance Coverage Practice focuses on interpreting contracts of all kinds and representing insurers in complex coverage matters. This includes monitoring claims, mediations, arbitrations, and declaratory relief litigation in state and federal courts nationwide. We represent a broad range of clients, including primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators, managing general agents, insurance brokers and agents, and independent adjusting companies. Collectively, our attorneys have experience across virtually every line of business. While prior insurance law experience is preferred, we are also interested in talented litigators with strong transferable skills and a demonstrated interest in insurance law.
