This position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement. Wilson Elser’s New York City office is currently seeking an Insurance Coverage and Litigation Associate Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, self-starter to build a long-term career with a growing and dynamic office of a national law firm.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Must be admitted to practice in the state of New York
  • 2-8 years of litigation experience
  • 2-8 years of Insurance coverage experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Federal court practice is an asset
  • Judicial clerkship a plus

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of insurance coverage disputes (primarily financial lines, including D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Cyber, Media, and E&O policies), including substantial coverage litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, as well as a growing number of matters involving the defense of insureds under these policies.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues regarding insurance coverage and insurance defense.
  • Draft coverage opinions, coverage letters, pleadings, and legal memoranda at both the trial and appellate levels.
  • Develop efficient and effective resolution strategies
  • Communicate timely and effectively with clients, and provide a high level of service
  • Meet court and internal deadlines
