About The Position

The Dental Insurance Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the financial health of the practice and a smooth patient experience. This position is responsible for insurance verification, claim submission, follow-up, payment posting, and patient communication regarding benefits and financial responsibility. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, organized, and confident communicating with both patients and insurance carriers. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education in business or healthcare preferred.
  • 2+ years of dental insurance coordination or dental billing experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dental insurance terminology, EOBs, and claims processes.
  • Experience verifying benefits and presenting patient estimates.
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Denticon and/or Dentrix is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and document patient insurance benefits prior to appointments.
  • Accurately prepare and submit insurance claims in a timely manner.
  • Follow up on outstanding, denied, or delayed claims.
  • Post insurance payments and adjustments correctly to patient accounts.
  • Assist with pre-authorizations, appeals, and coordination of benefits.
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding coverage, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs.
  • Maintain accurate and organized insurance records.
  • Collaborate with front office and clinical team to ensure seamless billing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and insurance regulations.
