Requirements

2+ years of dental insurance coordinating experience is a must
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Must be able to explain insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and provide costs to patients
Detail-oriented
Previous experience and familiarity with dental coding, insurance processing

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Dentrix software is highly preferred

Responsibilities

Correspond with insurance companies to resolve payment delays, requests for additional information, or to discuss denied treatment coverage
Monitor and follow up on outstanding claims
Handle all inquiries concerning insurance daily
Document basic insurance information in the patient’s file for quick reference
Provide the appointment coordinator with patient names and amounts due, so effective collection over the counter can take place during the day
Identify patients in the daily schedule who are a financial concern, note payment problems on the patient’s chart, and arrange a conference with them either before or at the time of the appointment
Scheduling of patient appointments, monitoring, and managing a productive schedule
