Requirements

• 2+ years of dental insurance coordinating experience is a must
• Knowledge of Dentrix software is highly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Must be able to explain insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and provide costs to patients
• Detail-oriented
• Previous experience and familiarity with dental coding, insurance processing

Responsibilities

• Correspond with insurance companies to resolve payment delays, requests for additional information, or to discuss denied treatment coverage
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding claims
• Handle all inquiries concerning insurance daily
• Document basic insurance information in the patient’s file for quick reference
• Provide the appointment coordinator with patient names and amounts due, so effective collection over the counter can take place during the day
• Identify patients in the daily schedule who are a financial concern, note payment problems on the patient’s chart, and arrange a conference with them either before or at the time of the appointment
• Scheduling of patient appointments, monitoring, and managing a productive schedule
