About The Position

The Insurance Collector Specialist at Middle Tennessee Ambulatory Center is responsible for managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely collection of payments from insurance companies. This role involves correcting billing errors, negotiating claims, and maintaining effective communication with clients and internal teams to support the financial health of the facility.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain excellent office etiquette.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and payment processing of claims under managed care contracts.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing situations.
  • Confidentiality in handling patient information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with AdvantX (Patient Accounting System).

Responsibilities

  • Work the facilities A/R report and collect money due from the Insurance Company.
  • Correct billing information in the Advantx system by pulling patient charts and making necessary changes.
  • Correct rejection errors in Zirmed/Waystar.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of claims, reimbursement, and collection efforts for various insurance plans including Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Comp, and Commercial plans.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls efficiently and professionally.
  • Contact clients to collect outstanding payments.
  • Attend BO meetings, center staff meetings, and participate in committees as requested.
  • Adhere to all Policies & Procedures set by SSC & USPI/Tenet.
