Requirements

  • High-School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 1+ year billing & admin experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, medical records, and other related documentation
  • Ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly, handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sufficient typing skills, high level of proficiency with general office PC applications (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel), Medical Billing Software Systems and comfort with learning new applications as required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior knowledge and experience with CPT and ICD-10 codes is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with front desk staff to ensure accurate co-pays, deductibles, account payments, and self-pay fees are collected at time of service.
  • Manage patient inquiries regarding insurance benefits for services.
  • Identify and resolve patient billing issues.
  • Complete Medicaid and Medicare and private insurance verifications before initial visit and regular reverifications
  • Submit for private insurance and Medicaid and Medicare prior-authorizations via online insurance company portals, phone call, or faxes. Ensure all prior authorization requests are submitted in a timely manner and continuously monitored until approval. Submit for reconsiderations as needed.
  • Act as the liaison between RCM team and parents regarding credits and balances
  • Complete scanning and faxing of medical documentation
  • Obtain signed prescriptions from physicians for prior authorization requests
  • Check the mail for time sensitive information like medical records requests
  • Assist Front Desk Staff as needed with scheduling/check-in of patients
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the Center Director.
