This part-time position provides clerical support services to the department, encompassing secretarial, clerical, and reception tasks. The primary responsibilities include obtaining and documenting pre-certification for pre-authorized insurance requests related to Wound services and procedures, as well as securing authorizations for referrals to other services when necessary. The Insurance Advisor will act as an intermediary between physicians, Genesis Medical Center departments, and insurance organizations to resolve pre-certification issues. This role also involves initiating and following up on appeals for denied payments. The advisor is expected to ensure high patient and customer satisfaction and that the pre-certification process effectively meets the needs of physicians, patients, and Genesis Medical Center. Furthermore, the position serves as the main point of contact for clinical physicians, the physician's billing office, and various Genesis Medical Center departments.
