About The Position

Classic Industrial Services, headquartered in Baton Rouge, is a leader in effective industrial services in the United States. Established in 1988, we offer design, construction, installation, and maintenance services for a wide range of industrial applications throughout the lower 48 states. We specialize in thermal insulation services, scaffold erection and rental services, siding, refractory, and electric tracing systems. The position of Insulator is based in Platteville, Colorado, and reports to the Foreman. This is a non-managerial role.

Requirements

• Construction industry experience is required.
• Fabrication experience is a plus.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean record in accordance with Company Policy.
• Willing to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
• Shape metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer.
• Operate soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts.
• Inspect, assemble, and smooth seams and joints of burred surfaces.
• Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
• Fasten seams and joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, and bonds.
• Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts using hand tools and portable power tools.
• Maintain equipment, making repairs and modifications when necessary.
• Develop and lay out patterns that use materials most efficiently.
• Perform all work to the highest standards of safety and workmanship.
