The Insulator position involves providing leadership, instruction, and guidance to craft workers in a work crew. The role requires a positive attitude towards safety, quality, policy, and procedures, as well as knowledge of OSHA, Brand, and customer policies at the job site. The Insulator must complete a qualified Job Safety Plan, select and use proper PPE, and demonstrate proper site preparation prior to scaffold erection. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, applying adhesives, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and executing the installation of insulation materials. The Insulator must also safely utilize scaffolding and portable lift devices, maintain tools and equipment, and participate in safety talks. The role may require performing duties of the Lead Carpenter in their absence and promoting a team attitude.

  • Provide leadership, instruction, and guidance to craft workers in work crew
  • Assist the Lead Insulator
  • Display a positive attitude towards Safety, Quality, Policy, and Procedures
  • Complete a qualified Job Safety Plan identifying hazards and risks
  • Select and use proper PPE as identified on the JSP
  • Demonstrate proper site preparation prior to scaffold erection
  • Read and interpret blueprints, instructions, and other documentation
  • Apply brush and spray adhesives or attach metal adhesive backed pins
  • Select and ensure insulation materials comply with project specifications
  • Execute and mentor field fabrication, fit up, and application of insulation materials
  • Ensure correct installation of insulation and weatherproofing components
  • Safely utilize scaffolding, portable lift devices, and fall protection
  • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Lead in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation
  • Maintain equipment and tools, perform minor repairs, and report damages
  • Participate and mentor crew in tool box talks on Safety and Performance
  • Perform duties of the Lead Carpenter in their absence
  • Promote and build team attitude
  • High school diploma or GED, preferred
  • Bilingual communication, preferred
  • Driver requirements in accordance with Brand Vehicle Policy, if required
  • 3 years of experience in the insulation craft
  • Pass Brand's skills assessment
  • NCCER certified as an Industrial Insulator (INSUL19_01)
  • Willingness to become a qualified Brand Mentor within 6 months or complete customer short service worker program
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check based on customer requirements
