About The Position

The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a short-term position in the Orange, TX area: INSULATOR 4 x 10 - 4 DAYS NCCER certification preferred. Successful candidates will have a minimum of three (3) years of continuous and current experience as an Insulator in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment. Insulators install insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as buildings, various types of equipment, air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and builders. This may involve cement, staple, wire tape, or spray insulation. Insulators use common hand tools - trowels, brushes, knives, scissors, saws, and stapling guns. They may also use power tools to cut insulating materials, welding machines to join sheet metal or secure clamps, and compressors for blowing or spraying insulation. NCCER certification(s) for Industrial Insulator is preffered but not required . Preference will be given to those with experience in hard piping and vessel cover. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Read blueprints and select required insulation material Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive backed pins to surfaces as necessary to facilitate the application of insulation material Other forms of fastening may involve staples, tape, or wire bands Measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces, using tape measure, knife, or scissors Fit, wrap, or attach required insulation material around or to structure, following blueprint specifications Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape to secure insulation to the structure according to type of insulation used and structure covered. May be required to screw on sheet metal around insulated pipes to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical abuse Physical Demands: May involve work both indoors and outdoors, as well as in extreme hot or cold weather conditions. May spend most of the work day standing on feet, and require bending, stooping, and/or squatting. May require working in cramped and uncomfortable conditions. May be required to climb about machinery and climb ladders, scaffolds, and catwalks. Must be able to wear respiratory equipment when required.
