HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division, with over 11,000 employees, is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi and a significant contributor to Alabama's economic growth. For nearly 85 years, the company has been involved in the design, construction, and maintenance of amphibious ships, destroyers, and cutters for the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. As the largest supplier of U.S. Navy surface combatants, Ingalls Shipbuilding is currently building four classes of ships simultaneously and has a long history of pioneering advanced, highly capable ships for the surface Navy fleet. The role involves fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing bulkheads, wood and metal articles, interior wood finishes, cabin accessories, and wood and metal deck structures. Additionally, the position is responsible for the proper mounting of furniture, racks and bins, partition bulkheads, decorative ceilings, false decks, and other outfitting items.
