About The Position

The Insulation Metal Man is responsible for applying, removing, and repairing insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings. This role is crucial for controlling noise and maintaining temperatures. The position requires reading blueprints to select the appropriate insulation material and working at heights without fear. The Insulation Metal Man will brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive applications to insulation material, determine the amounts and select required insulation materials based on their ability to retain heat, location, surface, shape, and equipment use. The role also involves measuring and cutting insulation material to specified sizes and shapes, fitting, wrapping, or attaching insulation material around structures, and covering or sealing insulation with various materials to secure it to the structure. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience in insulation work.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and select required insulation material.
• Work at heights without fear.
• Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive application to insulation material.
• Determine the amounts and select required insulation material based on various factors.
• Measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape using appropriate tools.
• Fit, wrap, or attach insulation material around or to structures following blueprint specifications.
• Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape to secure insulation to the structure.
