About The Position

Positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This includes repairing and maintaining the operating conditions of the machinery and Industrial equipment used in the pork processing industry, troubleshooting problems that occur in the day- to-day operation of the facility. The position requires performing work involving hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, 3-phase wiring, AC DC control wiring, welding and pneumatic systems. The Team Member will also set up, adjust and break down production line machinery and complete daily documentation that is required. Occasional lifting from 0-61lbs. For the safety of our team members, for certain skilled positions a HAZMAT and/or PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) will be required to pass to be considered in that department. For the following skilled positions Instruments, Projects, Chillers/Engine Room /Refrigeration, PSM Coordinator; mechanical knowledge/background is preferred. Must be available to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays and available for overtime. Must be able to communicate effectively with all team members and management to resolve mechanical failures as well as be able to read manuals in order to repair equipment safely. Must be willing and able to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms. Must be willing and able to stand/walk 12-hour shifts on hard floors. Must be willing and able to work in all environments of our processing facility such as Harvest, Cut Converting, Rendering and Load-out freezer areas with temperatures ranging from -30 to +90 degrees. Applicant must have previous maintenance experience in two of the following areas: • Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance, to include 3ph wiring, 460 or 220 v, 110 vac wiring, 24 v wiring, PLCs with emphasis on I/O. Types of I/O sensors, such as PT'S / CT'S / 4-20 ma / low voltage / RTD's and Thermocouples / how they work and how to troubleshoot. • Welding to include AC/DC stick / Mig / Tig / Torch brazing. Understand how to set the welder and why? • Plumbing to include PVC / CPVC / Compression / Flare / Sweating of copper / Threaded pipe. Know the difference and have basic knowledge of how each process works. • Conveyor / Auger maintenance • Pneumatic controls and air tools. • Hydraulics with basic understanding of controls and control valves and how they work. Candidates who have previously been employed with Tyson have a 90-day waiting period.
