About The Position

The Instrumentation Technician at Koch Methanol, LLC is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems within the St. James, Louisiana facility. This role operates on a 4-10 schedule from Monday to Thursday, starting at 5:00 AM, and is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of various control systems used in the production of methanol.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in instrumentation maintenance.
• Experience with PLCs, DCS, and other control systems.
• Ability to be medically approved to participate in the respiratory protection program.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to grip up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to carry up to 15 lbs.
• Ability to pinch up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs/ladders and work at heights up to 100 ft.
• Ability to wear appropriate PPE and/or fire resistant clothing while performing job duties.
• Ability to work outdoors in various types of weather.

Nice To Haves

• Instrumentation experience in an industrial and/or chemical environment.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, install, verify, and validate Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.
• Manage daily maintenance workflow activities utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of various instruments including flow, level, pressure, temperature, vibration, variable frequency drives, electric motors, and analyzers.
• Inspect, test, adjust, and repair electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to control, indicate, and record operations.
• Improve, develop, and implement maintenance process improvements and efficiencies.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve system performance.
