About The Position

TAMKO is seeking an Instrumentation Technician at our Tuscaloosa, Alabama manufacturing facility. The Instrumentation Technician will perform instrumentation activities pertaining to automation, reliability standards, inspection, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Two to three years related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies parts needed for electrical maintenance and repair projects and obtains these parts from the parts room.
  • Transports parts and equipment between work projects in progress.
  • Uses electrical hand tools or voltage or amperage measuring and recording devices.
  • Performs electrical repairs on various types of electrical equipment per SOPs and PMs.
  • Reads electrical controls schematics and reviews PLC programs for troubleshooting.
  • Selects, installs, configures and calibrates instruments and devices.
  • Bends, hangs and runs conduit where needed.
  • Pulls electrical cable and wire in conduit.
  • Transports and stacks conduit and electrical wire as needed.
  • Operates various shop equipment such as welding machines, grinders, drill press, vertical mill, saws, etc.
  • Tests equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Trains operators on new systems and updates LOTO and SOP information.
  • Works rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and overtime as required.
