About The Position

Instrumentation Technician The Opportunity: Applies engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, or maintenance of mechanical systems. Applies specific functional, working, and general industry knowledge. Develops or contributes to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance. May review or guide activities of more junior employees

Requirements

5+ years of experience in a military flightline
5+ years of experience with electronic principles and practices, and military avionic instrumentation systems
5+ years of experience in wire repair techniques and the use of specialized hand tools, such as Daniels kit
Ability to interpret technical data such as procedures, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems
Ability to install, troubleshoot, modify, and maintain specialized instrumentation systems
Ability to use electronic test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, beacon testers, and multimeters
Ability to use computer software to test, monitor, and upgrade installed system software
Ability to travel to CONUS or OCONUS locations 25% of the time
Top Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

Experience with handling, cleaning, testing, and routing fiber optics
Experience in evaluating and upgrading avionic operating instrumentation systems
Knowledge of airborne range facilities and test missions
Knowledge of engineering workstation hardware to maintain systems in operating condition with up-to-date software
Ability to provide technical leadership to other technicians and support personnel
TS/SCI clearance
Associate degree in an Electronics field
