Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent hands-on experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with instrumentation, sensor installation, or lab-based testing.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems, sensors (temperature, pressure, strain, etc.), and wiring techniques.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude for handling and installing instrumentation.
  • Attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and ability to follow technical instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in battery or EV testing environments.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage safety protocols and ESS lab procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with sensor calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD or fixture design for sensor integration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install sensors and instrumentation on cells, modules, and battery packs according to engineering specifications.
  • Prepare test articles for data acquisition, ensuring proper sensor placement and connectivity.
  • Collaborate with engineers and ESS T&V technicians to support testing in MY2 and other projects.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure reliable and accurate measurements.
  • Document installation procedures, sensor configurations, and test readiness status.
  • Maintain lab organization and ensure safe handling of high-voltage and delicate test components.
  • Support continuous improvement of instrumentation processes and setups.
