ASR is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer for an exciting opportunity working to support the US Air Force at Nellis AFB, Nevada. The Instrumentation Engineer designs, integrates, and evaluates airborne instrumentation systems for operational test missions. This role applies advanced engineering principles to support system development and sustainment.

  • Design and test instrumentation systems for fighter aircraft.
  • Apply engineering theories to solve complex integration and compatibility issues.
  • Coordinate with program offices and test teams to meet mission objectives.
  • Analyze test data and provide technical recommendations.
  • Prepare engineering documentation and reports.
  • Support system upgrades and modifications based on emerging technologies.
  • Level I Instrumentation Engineer 2+ years of experience.
  • Level II Instrumentation Engineer 5+ years of experience.
  • Level III Instrumentation Engineer 10+ years of experience.
  • Level IV Instrumentation Engineer 14+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree. (4 years additional experience in lieu of BS degree)
  • Strong background in electronics engineering and aerospace systems.
  • Experience with test and evaluation of weapon systems and support equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical accuracy with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Possess knowledge of professional electronics engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concerns to project development, execution and advisory services.
  • Possess knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
  • Possess knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of electronic systems or devices.
  • Possess knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and other engineering disciplines.
  • Possess knowledge of advanced concepts, principles, practices, methods, and techniques to provide expert judgment concerning programs/operations; resolve unique or novel problems, conditions, or issues; and significantly alter standard practices, processes, and known techniques.
  • Possess the ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches, and to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes.
  • TS/SCI required.
