Tata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC, (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries. Position Summary Experienced Instrumentation Engineer needed for International Assignment for approximately one year, then Baton Rouge, LA, for a permanent position. This position will be supporting the development of a greenfield US Steel Plant. Previous large capital project experiences a must, over $1Billion desired.

Requirements

  • 10 to 20 years of relevant heavy industrial, refinery, petrochemical and process facility instrument engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety in design applicable to industrial and process facilities.
  • Previous experience working in a chemical/petrochemical/refinery required.
  • Position will require onsite work daily.
  • Must be US Nationals (or 10+ years capital project experience in US).
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer License (P.E.) a plus.
  • Steel plant experience strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assignments, which require the application of engineering education, training or experience and special knowledge or judgment of the mathematical, physical, or engineering sciences. Assignments are designed to further develop the incumbent’s job knowledge and abilities.
  • Applies engineering principles in discipline of competency, as assigned by supervisor with little direction.
  • Demonstrates a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities.
  • Analyzes and assists other lower-level engineers with designs as needed.
  • Analyzes complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of progress.
  • Prepares advanced and complex specifications detailing performance requirements, specific components, design requirements, applicable design codes, and vendor drawing requirements.
  • Visits vendor facilities to inspect equipment for compliance with requirements.
  • Visits jobsites to evaluate site, project requirements, and conditions.
  • Develops a focus on least cost, safe design.
  • Supports field assignments as required.
  • Mentors less experienced engineers, designers, and drafters.
  • Supervises design personnel and other staff specialists.
  • Participates in sales presentations.
  • Prepares inquiry and purchase requisitions.
  • Prepares bid tabulations on simple purchases.
  • Reviews vendor drawings for major components.
  • Ensures that project schedule and budget of assigned projects are maintained.
  • Meets company quality assurance requirements.
  • Must be able to perform tasks of the lower classification.
